Visa to Poland - questions and answers
How long does it take to get a visa to Poland?
The waiting time is usually about 10-20 days, counting from the moment of visiting the consulate. By law, this period is up to 14 days and may be extended to 30 or 60 days in some cases. The waiting time depends on the number of applicants applying for a Schengen visa at a given facility.
I have been refused a Schengen visa. What to do?
There is an appeals mode where additional documents can be submitted. The consulate usually gives the reason for the decision not to grant a visa. Most often, these are shortcomings in documents, e.g. discrepancies in the invitation, different dates, or incomplete data. That is why it is worth using the services of our company because already at the verification stage we can determine which documents need to be corrected. This increases the chances of obtaining a visa to the Republic of Poland.
Can I reapply if my visa is refused?
It is possible to submit another application immediately after receiving a refusal. On the other hand, resubmitting the same application will probably result in another refusal. There is no right to a refund of the amount paid. We recommend our help in order to prepare a good application the first time.
How to extend a visa in Poland?
The extension of a visa must have a valid justification. Most often these are random events, e.g. illness and the need for treatment. The application is submitted to the Provincial Office. The Office issues a decision within 30 days. Currently, pursuant to the so-called "covidowa" all visas are automatically extended.
What to do when the visa ends?
If you want to extend your stay in Poland, you can apply for a temporary stay or extend your visa. The condition for submitting documents for temporary residence is the presentation of the real purpose of staying in Poland, supported by appropriate attachments. The purpose of the stay may be to work, study or stay with a Polish citizen. It is important that the application is submitted during a legal stay, i.e. a valid visa. This is one of the key conditions. If the application is submitted after the expiry of the visa, it will be refused.
I do not have a job and no means of subsistence, and I want to apply for a Polish visa. Can I get a refusal?
Probably yes. Lack of funds and permanent work is a frequent reason for a negative decision to grant a visa. However, it is allowed to present other extracts that may help to authenticate the material status sufficient to obtain a visa.
I'm going on business, but I don't have an invitation. What to do?
We can help in obtaining an invitation for a foreigner. Just contact us and we will help you with official matters. However, we require that the inviting company from Poland helps in obtaining the invitation. We do not provide assistance with fictitious invitations. This is not allowed and is punishable.
A visa to Poland requires an invitation issued by the Voivodeship Office. We can help with the full procedure.
Can I complete the application for a visa to the Schengen area myself?
Yes, of course, it is possible. More information can be found on the government websites of the Republic of Poland.
Can I complete the visa application in a language other than Polish?
Yes, it is possible. You need to check this on the website of the consulate of the country where you are applying for a visa.
What documents do I have to submit? Is this standard procedure?
Most of the documents are the same - application, passport, photos, insurance, and travel documents (ticket, hotel) . However, each country has a different policy and required additional documents depending on internal conditions. For example, in Russia, an internal passport must be presented, and in the United Arab Emirates, a local ID. Please e-mail or call us and we will check what documents are necessary in your case.
What is the validity of a visa to Poland?
A national visa is issued for various stays over 90 days. A Schengen visa can be valid for up to 90 days.
Can I travel to other European Union countries with a visa to Poland in my passport?
Yes. You can move around the entire Schengen area, which has no borders. Some information indicates that the first visit should be to the country of destination. You make such a declaration when completing the application. Therefore, you submit your visa application at the consulate of the country you are going to first.
Is it possible to fill out a visa application at your office?
Yes, you can do it in the office by appointment. We recommend using the consultation package. A Polish visa is not a simple procedure and it is worth discussing many details before filling out the application.
Is it possible to submit a visa application every day?
You can leave your documents or make an appointment at our office. We work from Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00. However, the submission of a visa application at the Polish Embassy in a given country should be checked directly at the embassy.
